Nine Province boys selected for SA U20 trials
Following a strong season for all of Vodacom WP´s age level teams, nine players have been rewarded with call ups to the SA U20 Trials and Training Camp that will take place in Saldanha from 5-10 December. Looseforwards Nizaam Carr and Heinrich Marcus, who matriculated this year from Bishops and Excelsior respectively and both represented Vodacom WP at the 2009 Coca-Cola Craven Week, have been rewarded for their excellent performances at U18 level with a call up to the squad. Carr, who was selected for the SA Rugby U18 High Performance Squad this year, is being rewarded for his strong displays whilst representing SA Schools earlier this year. Marcus meanwhile also formed part of the U18 High Performance Squad when he lined up in international clashes against France and Namibia.
The two schoolboys are joined in the squad by fellow Vodacom WP players wing Ruan Combrink, centre Berton Klassen, scrumhalves Louis Schreuder and Frederick Muller, fellow loose forwards Reuben Johannes and Helmuth Lehman and prop Ruan Smith who all were part of the U19 side that reached the semi finals of the year´s competition.
At the conclusion of the camp 32 players will be selected for a tour of the UK and France early next year.
Congratulations boys and good luck for the camp in Saldanha - WP jou lekker ding!
