Head coach Jerome Paarwater said, "Our pre-season preparations were not ideal as we had limited time to train together as a team as many of the players were involved with the Vodacom Stormers and Varsity Cup. However our training sessions this week have gone well and the guys are very motivated."

He added, "Whilst we will be taking each game one at a time, our goal for the season is to better our position of reaching the semifinal in 2009."

Former Springbok hooker Hanyani Shimange will be leading an experienced side comprising familiar names such as Frikkie Welsh, Dylan des Fountain, Willem de Waal, Fabian Juries, Conrad Hoffman, JD Moller and Martin Muller.
