Women´s Rugby in South Africa continues to gain momentum since it´s arrival on the provincial domestic scene in 2001. The SA Rugby Women´s League runs from July to October.
Currently the top ten teams are divided into two strength-vs-strength sections of five teams each, playing a single round within each section. After the completion of the single round in each section, the four teams with the highest number of log points in each section play one another in a semi final knock-out round. Team 1 vs Team 4 and Team 2 vs Team 3. The winners of the respective semi finals play each other in the finals, resulting in a Section A and Section B winner.
