This tournament runs along the same competition structure as it´s older brother, the Absa U21 Tournament. Vodacom WP u21 compete in Section A of the tournament, which includes the Blue Bulls, Boland, Free State, Golden Lions, Kwa Zulu Natal and the Leopards. After a completion of a single round, teams go into the knock-out stages of a semi final and final. The Absa U19 Tournament final is played as a curtainraiser to the Absa U21 Tournament and Absa Currie Cup final.

The under 19 tournament allows for junior provincial players to compete against their peers on a domestic stage, and are often players who have graduated from the under 18 Craven Week, South Africa´s premier school boy rugby tournament.
